In this interview with Shirts Across America executive director Randy Novak, Pastor Patrinell Wright recalls singing for the Dalai Lama during his visit to Seattle in October 1979.
The 44 year-old exiled spiritual and political leader of Tibet arrived in Seattle for a three day visit on October 3rd, 1979. Seattle University gave him an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree in recognition of his contributions to “global dialog for peace”, calling him a “bright beacon of truth”. At the time, Seattle had the largest Tibetan colony in America.
